Flushing Arts Week - celebrating art in the iconic village of Flushing.

This year it includes the Queens Diamond Jubilee bank holiday weekend and many of the events are themed around this celebration.

The arts week will be into its 7th year and has developed and grown over this time. The main aim of this week-long event is to bring the arts not only to the local community but to share them with visitors to the village and the Fal River Festival.

A broad approach to the Arts brings together Art, Craft, Music, Film, Theatre, Photography, Animation, Performance and other forms of the art. The community works together, to get as many people as possible in the village to join in with the activities, even if they do not have an arts background.

There are workshops and open air community art events suitable for all, especially suitable for children and families.

Almost hidden away, just across the water from the bustling town of Falmouth, and connected by the Flushing Ferry, the village of Flushing, reputedly the warmest village in Great Britain, has a rich history particularly from the time of the packet ships when a number of packet ship captains built houses in the village.

The village still retains its local community spirit with a primary school at the heart of the village, a village stores, the 7 Stars and Royal Standard pubs and the Waterside restaurant on the quay. All three serve food with water views and extensive menus. Walk down to the beach or around the point to take in the breathtaking views.
