The beautiful and world famous J Class Yachts are coming to Falmouth at the end of June for the first of a series of regattas in the UK.

Five races will take place between Tuesday, June 26 and Saturday, June 30 and we'll be providing spectator boats for each race.

On each day throughout the regatta we will be providing a boat capable of carrying 100 passengers, with an onboard toilet and bar, which will leave at 1030hrs from Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth and return at 1300hrs.

Each passenger will need a Fal Mussel Card Visitor as their ticket (only 1-day cards will be accepted) and include free all day parking at Falmouth's Park and Ride/Float as well as unlimited hop-on hop-off travel around the Fal River. Prices start from £16 for a 1-day card.

The spectator boat will travel to the start line and follow the flow of the race and there will be an on board commentary.

David Pitman, secretary of the J Class Association, said: 'The J Class Association chose Falmouth as a UK base for its first 2012 regatta because of the great deep water bay, onshore support services and support from an experienced local Club - the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.

'The waters around the bay offer the opportunity of great courses for both the competitors and spectators, who can view from the many headlands.

'Spectators in Falmouth will be the first in the UK to view this wonderful fleet. Four J Class yachts, Velsheda, Ranger, Lionheart and Rainbow, each 140 feet in length, weighing around 200 tons and with a crew of up to thirty are expecting to be ready and prepared for racing in June 2012.

'Enthusiasts from around the world will be coming to Falmouth to view the yachts and watch the racing, which will be reported live around the world.

'This will be a yachting event not to be missed!'
