From 10 May

Cornish businesses go the extra mile to support this year's Festival.

The Truro & Penwith College Fal River Festival will once again be supported by two fantastic Cornish businesses.

Skinner’s Brewery is sponsoring the event for the fifth year running and Eventy – Marketing & PR is offering its support for a second year.

In addition to sponsoring a day during the festival, the award-winning brewery is making sure that the popular festival is full of Cornish spirit by donating its iconic barrels of beer for the Opening Ceremony and sailing of the Beer Fleet down the Fal River.

The Beer Fleet Launch opens the festival on Friday, June 1 by transporting barrels of beer by boat, directly from Skinner’s Brewery in Truro down the Fal River to Falmouth.

It is a tremendously scenic occasion as countless vessels ranging in size from tugs to canoes parade beside the ferry carrying the beer.

Ongoing Success

Lead by Skinner’s famous Betty Stogs, this colourful procession accompanies the beer to its destination - Events Square, where it's duly enjoyed with live music by sponsors and festival goers alike.

Eventy – Marketing & PR has co-ordinated the marketing tools for this year’s festival, including the website and programme.

The Penryn based agency has also secured the sponsorship that enables the festival to go ahead.  Managing Director Helen Mulhern is pleased to play a part in the event’s ongoing success.

'This popular festival is a highlight of Cornwall’s event calendar and we're pleased and proud to be involved,' she said.

'The festival thrives on the generous support of our sponsors and the real affection that local people hold for it.'

Steve Skinner, Chief Executive of Skinner's Brewery, added: 'Our Cornish roots are very important to us and we love celebrating Cornwall.

'Our real life Betty Stogs will join in the fun as usual and this year she can be found abseiling down the National Maritime Museum!  We’re all really pleased to be contributing once again to the overall good spirit of this popular festival.'

The Truro & Penwith College Fal River Festival, which will take place from June 1 – June 10, attracts more than 100,000 people to over 150 events making it one of the largest festivals of its type in Cornwall.
