Heligan, seat of the Tremayne family for more than 400 years, is one of the most mysterious estates in England. At the end of the nineteenth century its thousand acres were at their zenith, but only a few years after the Great War of 1914 bramble and ivy were already drawing a green veil over this 'Sleeping Beauty'.
Today, Heligan's award winning restoration offers over 200 acres for
exploration: Victorian Productive and Pleasure Grounds, historic spring flowering shrubs, summerhouses, pools, rockeries, palm trees, crystal grotto, tree ferns, woodlands, farmland, a sub-tropical Jungle brimming with exotic foliage and a pioneering Wildlife Project all combine to create an enchanting destination with a breadth of year round interest.
