Our Sea Safaris cover the South Cornish coastline from Dodman Point (East of Falmouth) to The Lizard Peninsular (West of Falmouth)We can cover approximately 26 miles of sea on a 2 hour Coastal Explorer, which will allow you to discover a large chunk of coastline whilst on board, as well as heading further out to sea. Your Skipper will decide on the direction and area of your safari on the day of your trip, taking in careful consideration of tides and weather conditions, to make your trip as enjoyable as possible.
This page aims to give you an overview of some of the fascinating things that you may see or hear about on your safari... obviously we can't fit everything into 2 hours as there is so much to see, however the beauty of this is that no two trips are the same, allowing you to come back time and again!

Towns and Villages
Discover our picturesque Cornish towns and villages from a completely different perspective. From the bustling Historic port of Falmouth with its pastel painted houses and busy Docks, to the smaller villages of St Mawes, Portloe and Coverack...just to name a few. Every village that we see has a host of fascinating tales to tell.

Shipwrecks and Rescues
Visit notorious areas of rugged Coastline such as the infamous Manacles reef, home to over 100 shipwrecks and let our skipper tell you about some of the individual stories. Or how about the more recent wreck of the Ben Asdale, which can still be seen above the waterline.Listen to tales of daring rescues

Smuggling, Legends and Literature
Hear some of the tales of smuggling in days gone by. Discover local legends such as the Cornish Sea monster 'Mawgar', and visit places that have been bought to life in literature such as Daphne Du Mauriers ' Frenchmans Creek'.

Fishing
Learn about some of the fishing methods used in days gone by as well as see some of our small villages that still have a small active fishing fleet. You may even be lucky enough to see some of them in action.
Geology, Rocks and Headlands
Our Coastline has a fascinating and unusual Geology such as the serpentine cliffs of the Lizard Peninsular. Get up close to Gull rock, a huge triangular Rock which is home to hundreds of nesting seabirds in spring.
Castles and Lighthouses
See the twin Castles of St Mawes and Pendennis, built in the reign of Henry VIII and hear about their role in the English Civil war. Get up close to St Anthonys Lighthouse... the lighthouse in Fraggle Rock!
Rivers and Estuaries
Explore the Carrick Roads and venture further down onto the River Fal. See the historic King Harry Ferry which has been taking cars backwards and forwards across the river since 1888. Enjoy the peaceful tranquility of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with trees down to the rivers edge and Herons hunting fish.Or, take a slow ride down the Helford River, inspiration for Daphne Du Mauriers 'Frenchmans Creek'. You may see Seals or Peregrine Falcons as well as pretty villages such as Helford and Helford Passage.
