The Artists

Rosemary did a fantastic job painting Blue Lady, here is some more information about the artists who painted one of the most famous cows in Cornwall ...

Rosemary Day grew up on the Roseland, before moving to London where she was a practising artist and art teacher.
She returned to Cornwall 15 years ago and since then has exhibited extensively in London and the West Country, and of course St Mawes where she now lives. Her work is in private collections around the world, from the Tresco estate to the west coast of Australia. Rosemary has successfully completed numerous commissions, including a recent watercolour for the privately owned super yacht Spectre.

Rosemary has found it a delight to celebrate one of the most beautiful places in the world with this exciting public art project. Bluelady, so named after a cow once belonging to the her Cornish grandfather, is painted with many Falmouth working boats, particularily St Mawes owned, and reflects a summers day on the water. Rosemary has been inspired by the river Fal, particularly St Mawes, and the famous landmark of St Anthony lighthouse for her cow Bluelady.
